A-1 CORDATA SELF STORAGE - Evicted for reporting crimes & taking naps in my locker!

THE WORST STORAGE PLACE IN BELLINGHAM TO RENT!!! HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT!!!
 Prior to renting my unit in July 0f 2015, I called all over town and most small 5x5 units were rented @ $65/mth. One of the two on-site managers (Amanda) said they had one unit left for $55/mth. A friend came with me. Once we got there and decided to take the unit, Amanda wrote up the paperwork and handed it to us to sign. The price was $65/mth. Whoa! When I said she told me it was only $55/mth on the phone, she said "Oh, sorry about that", but didn't change the price. We had no choice.

A few weeks later, while leaving the facility at closing, a large pickup truck almost ran me over trying to enter the gate on my code. I tried to stop him. HE PULLED A GUN ON ME & THREATENED TO KILL ME!!! He was a customer. They evicted him and he went to jail. Keith & Amanda, the live-on-site managers, told me they were concerned for their safety. Keith said he was prepared if the guy came back. He said he had multiple guns in the house. Hopefully he has permits and keeps them secure away from the young kids.

Management said the cameras weren't working! That's because the management and owner do practically no maintenance or upkeep, treat customers like garbage and threaten to immediately kick you out if you complain. Keith, the co-resident manager is way too overweight to be able to do any maintenance or repairs. I was given a lousy $50 credit to repair the office's bathroom sink & drywall, which had fallen off the wall. I did a very professional job & completed it in about an hour because a blacktop crew was there and needed a washroom. Halls are rarely ever swept, the gate is OFTEN broken, only one keypad works,... Maintenance & upkeep are a joke. Twice, when walking past the office/residence, I've heard him watching loud PORN (as has the assistant mgr Julie). Julie is the only one there who acts professionally and actually does her job. She recently fell & lost consciousness when she slipped on the completely ice-covered pavement inside the gate, while helping a customer. No attempts from management to have the ice melted for days. They did post a sign saying to be careful on the ice. More lack of proper maintenance.

Recently, Amanda rented a unit to a homeless, heroin-addicted, filthy toothless prostitute (and admitted thief) right next to mine. She smoked heroin & passed out in the hallway, got into a physical fight her friend in the hallway, and always has 2-4 stolen shopping carts full of garbage and stolen goods, often blocking my door and the hallway. Today, FOUR packed shopping carts full of junk were blocking the main gate at 7am (opening time). FOUR of her drunk homeless friends were with her. Three of them went to smoke weed while one waited for me to enter my code & then went through the gate on my code.

I complained to Amanda AGAIN about this woman and the lack of security at this place. She started belittling me, telling me that I was "loitering" on premises too much (for being in MY paid storage locker, organizing my stuff! She literally threatened me. She said I was "on my way out", implying that I had better not complain again. Management is so damn lazy and don't do their jobs, meanwhile, they (and their 3 kids, two cats & a dog) live in a nice housing unit upstairs from the office, rent free, paid for by the customers that they treat like garbage.

***UPDATE 4/19/2017***
A few hours after I posted this review on "YELP!"... I WAS EVICTED! Keith, the very  overweight co-manager, confronted me with a disgusted & aggressive look on his face at 9pm (as I was entering the front gate) & said I had till the end of the month to vacate or I will be trespassed and lose my only possessions. It's amazing that Keith was awake at such a late hour for him. He is usually out cold by dark, stoned from his Medical Marijuana edibles that he said he gets using his mother's MMJ medical prescription.

Meanwhile, I'm homeless with hypoglycemia, prone to strokes & other medical issues. My storage locker helps keep me alive. Now, I am struggling to find a place to store my only few possessions since I'm being evicted at the end of April, two days after my 53rd birthday!

VIDEO/AUDIO EVIDENCE OF KEITH EVICTING ME & ADMITTING THAT I HAVE BEEN "ALLOWED" TO SLEEP IN MY UNIT DURING BUSINESS HOURS FOR NEARLY TWO YEARS!!! (FULL VERSION LINK HERE). I WAS ALSO "ALLOWED" TO SLEEP OVERNIGHT ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS BECAUSE OF MEDICAL OR PERSONAL EMERGENCIES.

About a year ago, while discussing me sleeping in my locker (no one else knew), Amanda & Keith jokingly told me that one guy runs a business from his storage locker & is often there the whole day. Another guy regularly spreads his woodworking "projects" all over the paved driveway so the toxic chemical sealants he uses can dry. It stinks up the whole area and permeates throughout the hallway to my locker, even though it's a violation of the rules to store flammable or toxic materials in the lockers.

Now, even though they have been accepting my monthly CASH payments (and gave me receipts for nearly two years) and "allowing you to sleep in your unit", suddenly they are rudely and condescendingly claiming that "You're not even a customer!" They claim that since my friend rented the locker for me and since they convinced him to end the contract, that I had to go. It's all recorded; I still have to edit the video/audio because it's too large for YouTube.

P.S. Watch out for SPIDERS. I received TWO nasty spider bites while sleeping in my locker. The property is built on & surrounded by swamp land.
